Hong Kong Mark Six is the only legal lottery in Hong Kong, operated exclusively by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) since 1975. With three draws per week and a 50-year history, it remains the most popular lottery game among Hong Kong residents.
How to Play
Pick 6 numbers from 1 to 49 (the main numbers). Each draw also produces a special number which determines the 2nd, 4th, and 6th prize tiers.
Minimum bet is HKD 10 per entry.
Bet Types
- Single entry: pick 6 numbers (HKD 10)
- Multiple entry: pick 7–13 numbers; system generates all possible 6-number combinations
- Banker entry: pick guaranteed numbers + candidate numbers
- Quick Pick: system-generated 6 numbers (HKD 10)
Winning Combinations
Each draw produces 6 main numbers + 1 special number (7 balls total). Prizes are split into 7 tiers as shown in the table above.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes are pari-mutuel pools (split among winners); 4th–7th are fixed amounts.
Draw Schedule
Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 21:30 HKT. Draws are televised live and posted to the HKJC website immediately.
Pool Allocation
The prize pool is split:
- 1st Prize: 45% of pool (rolls over if no winner)
- 2nd Prize: 15% of pool
- 3rd Prize: 40% of pool
- 4th–7th: fixed amounts (independent of pool)
When the 1st prize rolls over multiple draws, it can build into a Snowball Pool exceeding HKD 100 million. HKJC also runs special Snowball draws around Chinese New Year each year.
